Is our location data secure, compliant, and how long is it kept?

Only people you add to your account can see your data, and it is not shared with third parties. Hellotracks is HIPAA and GDPR compliant, and your data is hosted in the EU. Location history is kept as long as you want by default, or deleted automatically after one day, one month or three months.

Who can see what
Administrators see everything, including billing. Operators run the day but cannot change settings or see billing, and can be limited to one team or region. Workers only use the app and can be limited to their own location.
Sign-in
Two-factor authentication with backup codes, and single sign-on through Okta or Microsoft Entra if you already use one.
How long data is kept
By default, history is kept so you can go back as far as you need. If your policy requires it, set trip data to delete automatically after one day, one month or three months.
Tell your team
Employees must know the app is installed and running. Tracking people without their knowledge is illegal in most places, and we do not support it.

What we don't have
Hellotracks does not hold SOC 2 or ISO 27001 certification. If one of those is a hard requirement for you, tell us early, and we will work out together whether there is a way through.

Can you sign a BAA or a DPA?
Yes, both. Send your document to support@hellotracks.com, or ask for ours, and we will get it signed.
Can our data stay in the EU?
Yes. Data is hosted in the EU. If you have your own data residency rule, send it to us and we will confirm in writing that we meet it.
Is there an uptime guarantee?
A service level agreement is available on Enterprise. The Location and Dispatch plans have no contractual SLA.
Can we limit where tracking is recorded?
Yes. Define zones and tracking is only recorded inside them.
